Nspired is recruiting a hands-on Microsoft 365 Systems Administrator for a quantum technology company in Louisville, Colorado. You'll implement security and compliance improvements across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Entra ID and related Azure services.
This role focuses on turning requirements into well-tested, documented changes. You'll work under the Senior Infrastructure Manager, with infrastructure and security leadership directing policy and architecture, and provide escalated Microsoft 365 support.
Assignment at a glance
- Contract through Nspired, approximately 40 hours per week
- Based in Louisville, Colorado; expected hybrid schedule of two to three office days per week
- Initial six-month assignment anticipated; final schedule and term will be confirmed during screening
- Start as soon as practical after selection and onboarding
- Reports to the Senior Infrastructure Manager
- Extension or a future permanent opportunity may be possible depending on business needs and mutual fit; neither is guaranteed
What you'll do
- Assess Microsoft 365 configuration gaps, prioritize improvements and implement approved security and compliance changes
- Administer users, groups, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access and least-privilege access in Microsoft Entra ID
- Manage Exchange Online mail flow, mailbox security and operational troubleshooting
- Improve SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams permissions and external-sharing controls
- Configure and support Microsoft Purview information protection, data loss prevention, retention and auditing within approved policies and available licensing
- Investigate alerts and findings, gather useful logs, remediate issues and escalate risks appropriately
- Test changes, obtain approvals, document results and prepare rollback steps before production release
- Maintain configuration records, operating procedures and evidence for access reviews, assessments and audits
- Use PowerShell to automate routine administration and reporting
- Communicate clearly with infrastructure, security and support teams, and provide practical guidance to users
What you bring
- Typically three or more years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration in production, including security and compliance controls; equivalent demonstrated experience will also be considered
- Practical administration and troubleshooting across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Entra ID, with an understanding of how changes affect connected services
- Experience with MFA, Conditional Access, role-based permissions and secure collaboration
- Ability to translate security or compliance requirements into configuration changes, procedures and verifiable evidence
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview information protection, DLP, retention and auditing
- PowerShell skills, disciplined testing, change control and clear documentation
- Sound judgment balancing urgent operational issues with planned remediation, and clear communication about risks and progress
- Ability to commute to Louisville for the expected hybrid schedule and collaborate during Mountain Time business hours

- Supporting formal internal controls, audits or a regulated environment
- Microsoft Defender, Intune, device compliance or hybrid identity
- Administration, monitoring or access management for connected Azure services
- Relevant Microsoft certifications or equivalent practical expertise
