Nspired is recruiting an IT Service Desk Manager for a growing quantum technology company in Louisville, Colorado.
The team needs a hands-on people manager who can bring structure to a busy support operation. You will own the team's day-to-day priorities, make sure requests reach the right people, and keep tickets moving through resolution. Success means a more manageable backlog, clear accountability and fewer avoidable escalations to IT leadership.
What you'll do
- Manage and coach service desk technicians, set clear expectations, and balance assignments and support coverage
- Own ticket intake, triage, prioritization, assignment and follow-through based on business impact and urgency
- Track ticket volume, backlog age, response and resolution times, and recurring issues; use that information to improve service
- Establish clear escalation paths and keep employees and IT leadership informed of progress, risks and capacity needs
- Stay close to technical troubleshooting and step in on difficult Windows, Microsoft 365, device, access and connectivity issues
- Improve ticket quality, knowledge articles and support procedures so the team can resolve common issues consistently
- Partner with infrastructure, security, application teams and vendors to resolve issues and reduce repeat demand
- Reinforce approved access, security and change-control practices in daily support work
What you bring
- Demonstrated experience directly managing an IT service desk or technical support team, including coaching and accountability for team performance
- Experience organizing a busy ticket queue, setting priorities and reducing or stabilizing a backlog
- Ability to use service metrics to identify bottlenecks, communicate progress and improve results
- Strong practical understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365, identity/access, endpoints and common network issues
- Clear communication, sound judgment and dependable follow-through with employees, executives and technical teams
- Ability to work on-site in Louisville, Colorado three days a week
Helpful additional experience
- Freshservice or a comparable IT service-management platform
- ITIL practices, incident management, problem management and knowledge management
- Supporting engineering, research, laboratory or manufacturing users
- Improving support processes in a growing or changing organization
Assignment details
- Full-time contract assignment through Nspired Tech Solutions, initially six months
- Hybrid, with three days a week on-site in Louisville, Colorado; final schedule and start date will be confirmed during screening
- Potential conversion to permanent employment depends on mutual fit and business needs and is not guaranteed
